New interview in British Vogue

Since Timothée’s play ‘4000 Miles’ was supposed to come out in a couple of days (but has been postponed to as of yet unknown dates), Timmy and his costar Eileen Atkins were interviewed for the May 2020 issue of British Vogue. You can read the interview here and see a couple of photoshoot images in the gallery.

That Timothée Chalamet’s West End debut has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis will only add to the frenzy of anticipation around his eventual arrival on the London stage. Originally slated to open on 6 April, the Old Vic’s production of Amy Herzog’s 4000 Miles has been postponed until shuttered theatres can reopen to the public. And when that day comes, Chalamet’s co-star Dame Eileen Atkins has an idea of exactly who will be filing through the doors to take their seats before curtain up.

The duo gave Vogue an insight into the theatrical event of 2020 days before rehearsals began for the scheduled seven-week run of the play, in which they star as a grandmother and her grandson, both grappling with grief. “There was something exciting about doing a play that feels very New York in London,” diehard theatre fan Chalamet, 24, says of relocating to take up the role of lost 21-year-old Leo-Joseph Connell, who shows up on his widowed grandmother’s doorstep in Manhattan out of the blue.
