According to Deadline, Timothées upcoming movie ‘Beautiful Boy’ will be released on October 12, 2018.
Amazon Studios will release Felix van Groeningen’s Beautiful Boy starring Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet, on October 12.
Pic is based on the best-selling pair of memoirs from father and son David (Carell) and Nic Sheff (Chalamet), which chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with meth addiction over many years. The film also stars Maura Tierney, Amy Ryan and Timothy Hutton.
Groeningen and Luke Davies (Lion) wrote the screenplay, and Plan B Entertainment’s Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner produce.
Beautiful Boy will receive a limited release. The pic sounds like another Amazon title destined for awards. Carell was nominated for a best actor Oscar for 2015’s Foxcatcher, while Chalamet received his first Oscar nom for best actor this season for Sony Pictures Classics’ Call Me by Your Name.
Timotheé’s featured in the July issue of ‘Interview Magazine’ talking about filming ‘Interstellar’, ‘Hostiles’, ‘Beautiful Boy’ and a few more things. You can read it here and see the images in the gallery.
Well, I’m in San Francisco right now, working on a project called Beautiful Boy, trying to follow in the footsteps of committed performances and performers—I’m playing a heroin and methamphetamine addict. I lost weight to help accurately capture the dark stages of the drug. I’ve been getting to work with Steve Carell and just feel like the luckiest kid in the world. I love being able to see how people sink into the material—like watching you work your way through scenes, trying new things, always keeping it fresh. I got to work with Christian Bale over the summer, on Hostiles. It’s so impressive to see you guys work. I want to attack and to lead my life with vigor, but I’m in the watching stage at the moment. Younger actors feel pressure to bring a pop to every scene, as the roles get bigger, I’m finding you can add layers and do less scene-to-scene.
Timothée’s in talks to join the Steve Carell drama ‘Beautiful Boy’. According to Variety:
Timothee Chalamet, who starred in “Call Me By Your Name,” is in talks to come on board opposite Steve Carell in the drug addiction story “Beautiful Boy.”
Amazon Studios is financing and distributing and Brad Pitt’s Plan B is producing. The story is based on David Sheff’s 2008 book “Beautiful Boy: A Father’s Journey Through His Son’s Addiction,” which described his son Nic’s methamphetamine addiction and its impact on his family.
Also added a couple more photoshoots to the gallery. One old, from Berlinale 2015 and one new from Sundance.
